Veterans Educational BenefitsVisit the GI Bill Website Veterans (and certain dependents of veterans, Reservists, and Guard members) may be entitled to educational benefits from the Veterans Administration.
Rogue Community College is state approved for the training of veterans and most of the programs offered by RCC have been approved by the VA. EligibilityVeterans are required to take the RCC placement test in order to determine proper course placement prior to enrollment. They must be pursuing a degree or certificate in order to receive Veterans Administration Educational Benefits.To begin receiving educational benefits, veterans must complete an Application for Education Benefits, an Enrollment Certification form, and provide a copy of their DD-214. Other documents may be required depending on their VA Chapter. Rights and ResponsibilitiesStudents receiving Veterans Educational Benefits are required to adhere to certain guidelines:
Advance Pay RequestVeterans that need financial assistance to begin classes may request Advance Pay for the first term. Requests must be made 3 to 4 weeks prior to the beginning of the term. With Advance Pay, veterans are paid for the first 2 months of the term; however, the VA pays based on the number of days the veteran was enrolled for a given month. For example, if Fall Term begins the last week of September, the advance paycheck would be for part of September and all of October. The advance check is sent directly to the Veterans Advisor OfficePay TableRate of pay depends on the Chapter, and number of credit hours. Any changes during the term will be reported to the VA, and they may adjust the monthly allowance.
